Clafouti and Whiskey

3 days before fall and after summer

An indescribable weekend between everything

The morning started with a trip to the title office in Bowling Green. My car is officially mine now. Now I just have to save enough to sell it and get something else. I am thinking Scion TC (as long as I can find one used and can put a rack on it for kayaks). Then, we picked up this…..

Sam and I have been in need of a whiskey night. I think we have had 1 or 2 since we have been back from Ireland. This is a little fancier than our usual Paddy’s but I am sure we will have just as much fun. After coming home I made plum clafouti. I used a recipe from Orangette. It turned out super amazing.

Now…. before whiskey night, and Seth’s Dad’s Birthday party tomorrow, I have to clean the new ’studio’. Everything from the old Studio is stuffed in a tiny second bedroom that can barely be walked in. The thought of all I need to find space for is daunting. I hope that once I get space to work, this blog will turn more creative and artistic, like it was meant to be in the first place.

Scribbly world

Happy Tuesday
squirrel love

In a desperate attempt to make myself start creating again, and to ease the pain of getting out of my creative lull, I forced myself to open a new sketchbook. With a BIC mechanical pencil in hand, I tried not to think.

Summer

Children and puffy clouds

Saturday morning was spent at the quarry in Bowling Green with Sam. We were so happy to be in the sun that we didn’t even make it in the water. Also, by the time we felt hot enough to get in, an army of children had accupied most of the water space. These pictures are taken when we first arrived.

Saturday night, Seth and I spent time at his parents house with his brother’s family. Because my family lives farther away, it is great having his so close. They always make me feel comfortable and part of the family.

Today, Sam’s sisters are coming for a vacation with their big sister. Before they leave for Sandusky tomorrow, we are going to the park to take photos. I am hoping to get some reference photos for some start-up art. Soon, I will actually have some creative things to share. Wish me luck.

Outside

Oh… here I am

An entire weekend out of the apartment, studio, and windowless box I work in 9 hours a day. Instead, an entire day of kayaking, trail running, blueberry picking, and visiting with family. My spirit and body are thankful.

I need to start remembing what is important to me. The things that get lost while worrying and working and anticipating.

Family Fun

This is a rather late update. I meant to write last Sunday, but was probably distracted by cat shenanigans. Saturday Seth and I went to Cleveland with his brother, sister-in-law, and parents for an Indian’s game. We sat in the 5th row from the top. :) Rather scary, but fun. I felt a little safer from fly balls being up so high. At the Mudhens game, a baseball to the face was more likely. I was amused by the similarities and differences between going to a game when I was young, and as an adult. The food choices are completely different. When I was young, it was cotton candy and lemon ice. Now it was a hot dog and beer. However, once I started to realize how different this was, I had to buy a lemon ice.

Progressive Field

Friday, Oliver had his front claws removed. I still feel terrible. One paw is still rather tender I think. He sits on his butt with his paws in the air, a.k.a. meerkat kitty. He is growing fast and his favorite thing is ‘hugging’ his sister. Rowan does not seem to return the love. She has taken to sleeping in the cat-cube which only has one baby brother approach area. This reduces the possibility of having a little monster attach himself to her back from behind.

Safe Sleeping

Yesterday we spent the evening at Tyson and Jessie’s house for a party with family and Perrysburg fireworks. Today is a cleaning day I hope, and tomorrow we are going to my parents to hang about and kayak. YAY

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
