Snow Day!

Level 3 snow warning WOO HOO! Got up this morning and discovered I don’t have to go to work. YAY!

Sam made us breakfast after the three of us shoveled the drive way and sidewalks. Then I proceeded to drink an entire carafe of coffee in my pjs, wearing my proactive face wash. It’s a good day.
(Don’t mind the dirty mirror, and fuzziness of the picture)

Last night I started puppy proofing the kitchen, in preparation for this guy,

This is Crevan Riddle. The newest addition to our fuzzy family.
(It was impossible to get a clear picture of Mr. Wigglebottom)
We don’t really know what his mix is. His mom looked like a beagle shepherd mix. Most of his litter were merles. We will have to wait and see. Hes pretty darn cute anyway!

We pick him up Wednesday from a Humane Society in Michigan. This will be the longest week EVER.

Congratulations to Nora as well. I’m excited to have Crevan meet her newest addition, 12 year old border collie Lady.

(Ignore Seth’s giant hand) I really need to take better pictures. :)

Sicko

My body is all achy and out of whack. I’m very angry about it too because I was being such a good little runner the past two weeks. Now it hurts to move. Thankfully, I’m not throwing up or anything, just physically out of commission for a few days.

Here are some of my survival tools, along with lots of old movies on our AppleTV and kittens napping with me on the couch. Right now, its How to Marry a Millionaire, Rowan on my tum, and Oliver on my legs.

Happy Jean Weekend

Jean came to visit. Which means we had another awesome weekend. Lots of food and fall activities. Ran the Race For Victory Saturday morning. It wasn’t chip timed so I wasn’t sure of my time. I think I did it about 30 seconds faster than the last 5k. I forgot to stop my runmeter after the race on my phone till after I had turned in my marker and number. Oh well. It was pretty, and Jean and Seth ran as well. Then we went to MacQueen Orchards and bought apples, pumpkins, and fresh doughnuts. We ate the doughnuts, took a group nap in the living room ( I have an awesome picture but Sam has banned Jean and I from sharing it ), carved the pumpkins, then made a fire in the back and cooked veggies and hamburgers. I’m just recovering from the constant food coma!

Before Jean weekend I tried a few new recipes. Pumpkin Vegan Overnight Oats with gingerbread softserve, my twist of Oh She Glows’ recipe, but with pumpkin instead of squash and vanilla soy milk instead of almond milk. Everything else was the same.  Next time I will use way LESS ginger. It was all I could taste. Maybe half the amount, or even a fourth. I also made a cupcake version of her Pumpkin Gingerbread with Spiced Buttercream. SO good!  I may have been stalking Oh She Glows’ website for recipe ideas this week. Turns out it was a good idea.

Notice the amazing blood covered cupcake wrappers. :)

Fallness

It’s been a LONG time since I made a trip to the fabric store. Oh-my-goodness I could spend sooo much money there. I kept it small this time. A few new fleece and flannel fabrics for bear hats, new Halloween knee socks, and blood covered cupcake wrappers!

Fall is the bestest. We’ve had backyard bonfires at least once a week since we moved in. So many veggies to roast, and pumpkin oatmeal to make! Tonight was tempeh with peanut sauce and roasted brussel sprouts, onions, parsnips, and carrots.

Mmm…

Studio Day

Dog portrait and pumpkin pancakes? Heck yeah. I think i may be done with the dog portrait. Haven’t painted in a long time, and a friend of someone at work needed this done. Why not? There is a first time for everything. Not sure what I think about it yet. The colors are not right in both pictures, but you get the idea. I will probably fix a couple things before it’s done.
The pancakes are from last weekend. Whole wheat and milled flax and pumpkin = awesome.

Have a lovely Sunday.
