Running = Meh

It’s a little late to get better by next weekend for a 5k with Jean, but I need something to stay on track. I’m going to try sticking to a schedule. I have never been a fan of training plans, but i need something to keep me going. Here is the one I chose,

I needed to work up so I chose a 10k race plan.. and this one seems the most obtainable when I’m not actually working towards a race. I hope to plan my studio days along with it so I don’t end up stressing out about doing two things I enjoy. Now I will hopefully be more organized.

Oooo I got two new kinds of squash. New to me anyway.  I think all I’ve ever had are pumpkin and butternut.
Hello acorn and delicata squash!

Picture Recap

FOOD! Bubble tea, rainbow gummi bears, pumpkin spice latte, cider at the craft fair, fall beer, whiskey, pumpkin oatmeal (yes, i know it looks like bird poop, but its sooo good), gingersnaps with pumpkin spice Hershey kisses, pumpkin muffins, butternut squash and chicken soup (probably the best soup I have ever had), and mustache cookies. I have discovered that my favorite meal this fall is roasted squash, parsnips, and onions. My goal is for my skin to be orange tinged by Christmas!

Aminals galore!

Many events, most of which I don’t have pictures of. Yay fall!

Fail

Today OWNED me. It was one of those days where one tiny thing, was topped by another tiny thing… and all the tiny things became a huge Me mess. By 9 this morning I was ready to give up and hide away till tomorrow, and I probably should have. I’m taking two beers and calling it a night. Lets hope tomorrow decides to be nice to me. P.S. I hate my hair length right now. OK…. done. I DID clean the guinea cage! Oh yeah, I also failed at updating my website, but I consider that a good thing. So many things have been going on, the biggest being that we moved, and much more. I will illustrate with phone photos…  tomorrow. :) Bedtime YAY

Fall Planning

This fall I am determined to have some DIFFERENT fun things planned, have a future career path in the works, and continue experimenting with eating well (even through the holidays). Ma and I hope to go to the Chicago Renegade Craft Fair in September on Ma’s Birthday. I’ve never been to Chicago, or to a Renegade Fair. I am VERY excited.  Ideas will be accumulated and money will be depleted!

There is also a 5k in October that our friend Jean has proposed coming to Toledo from P-Burg to run with us. The 2010 Race For Victory will be in Swan Creek metro-park and will benefit The Victory Center. Jean just completed the SheRox Sprint Triathlon in Philly because she is awesome and a running, swimming, biking machine!

Also, I have cut ALL of my hair off. Well, most of it anyway. EEK! I don’t regret it as much as I thought I would. I don’t feel as ‘pretty’ as I did with long hair, but I feel “cute.” Or at least that seems to be the consensus from everyone else.  Pictures will have to come later because I don’t have access to them at the moment. I will also have to post a picture of the black bean brownies Seth and I made the other day. Or, in our case.. amazing black bean fudge.

Food Fun

Once again, I’m trying recipes from 101Cookbooks.  I love using ingredients that aren’t my normal choices. I’m learning a lot, and eating better because everything is different and good.

Making Tempeh Curry. It called for tempeh but we used chicken instead because I used our last tempeh on TLT sandwiches. It turned out AWESOME.

Next, I tried ‘Nikki’s Healthy Cookie Recipe’. These are REALLY good as well. The only thing I changed was the chocolate.  I used a bar of chocolate I had around which was 87% cocao. It made the cookies a little bitter, but the banana made them sweet enough. So if you don’t like a very very dark chocolate, I would go lighter.

Yay Food!
